Featured Images in AltoFocus Theme
-
Hi, Why aren’t images successfully being added to pages that I wish to have a featured image? I have tried cropping my images to 1200 px wide x 900 px tall (also tried size slightly smaller than that), but the images still won’t show up in my heading(s). I’m using the AltoFocus theme. Why isn’t this working?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi israeldoesart,
The AltoFocus theme is designed to display featured images on posts but not pages. While you can select a featured image for a page, it won’t be output by the theme. So it’s not anything you are doing wrong, it’s just the way the theme is designed.

Thanks for the tip!
What theme would you recommend that would preserve the overall feel of AltoFocus while allowing me to use featured images? I am a new WordPress user and do not have an extensive knowledge base.
Also, will I have to readjust my color pallet from scratch if I select a new theme?

You can find all free themes with a grid-based layout here:
https://wordpress.com/themes/free/filter/grid-layout
Of the ones on that list that look similar to Altofocus in layout, the only ones I can see that show featured images on pages are Gazette and Orvis:

Color palettes are theme-specific, so you likely won’t be able to apply the same color palette as you have on Altofocus, should you switch themes.
