Featured images not appearing

  My site is set up using the Gateway theme. I have been using featured images on most of my blog posts without difficulty. However, today I noticed that featured images have disappeared, and the post I was drafting and setting up the featured image didn’t appear on preview. I have checked Rescue Themes documentation regarding any special size for images and find nothing relative to that. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

  Featured images in Gateway theme are shown only on the blogs page / home page, where the theme displays all the posts along with their featured images.

  Featured image is not shown on individual post page. Preview shows the individual post page. This is why preview doesn’t show the featured image.

  At the end of your home page, you have three posts and you have set featured images for all three.

  For the first two posts, you have also added the featured images in the post content. This is why the image also shows up in the individual posts pages:
  Birds of a Feather, Maisie Dobbs Series #2 by Jacqueline Winspear
  And
  
  New Jerusalem News by John Enright {Review & Giveaway}

  However, for the third post ({Author Interview & Giveaway} Theresa Anzaldua, Author of We Had a Job to Do), you haven’t added the featured images in the post content. This is why you only see the featured image on the home page, but not on the post page.

  Do you mean that posts to which you had previously added featured images are no longer displaying those images on the front end (public site)?

  Or that those posts are missing the featured images in the post editor?

  Or something else?

  Could you please explain a little bit more what’s changed, and provide links to a few example posts where they look different than before so I can take a look directly?

  That documentation would only be relevant to the self-hosted version of Gateway, not the version you’re using here. For information about Gateway on WordPress.com, please see:

  Chaitanyamsv, you’ve jogged my near sleep brain from last evening! I recently changed to the Gateway theme and remember now that what you have described is one of the reasons I chose Gateway–I like the way it puts the three at the bottom of the home page and then gives excerpts on the blog linking to the individual posts. Don’t know what I was thinking last evening. Thanks for your input and setting me right!
