Featured Images Not Showing in All Templates

  Note: my blog is not yet live.

  I have activated the Twenty Twenty-Five theme for this test blog I am working on. If I can get it working I will switch one of my live blogs over to the Twenty Twenty-Five theme.

  I am trying to set up my Blog Home template to have Titles, Featured Images, and Excerpts of my blog posts. The titles and excerpts are working fine, but instead of featured images showing I get an empty box.

  I’ve spent about two days trying to troubleshoot this and found out I was setting featured images wrong in my posts, from the post page instead of the Media Library, but that’s the only progress I’ve made and fixing that hasn’t solved my problem

  That said, Featured Images appear to work now with some of the templates but not others. You can see in the screenshot immediately below (others appear beneath that) of my Templates page that three of the templates appear to be picking up the Featured Image of a little fairy while others are not. For the moment I’m concerned primarily with the Blog Home template.

  

  In the next screenshot I you can see the hierarchy of the Blog Home Template. The first Group is selected on the left. The items within the group include: Title, Featured Image, Date,  Excerpt. All of those elements appear in the preview area to the right of the hierarchy except Featured Image which shows only as an empty box.

  I have looked at all the settings I could find with the assistance of Gemini and Grok AI tools and tried to find something that’s wrong, but have had no success. I’ve spent hours trying to puzzle this out but with no luck. I will shelve the Twenty Twenty-Five theme and write it off as broken if I can’t find the help here I need to make it work.

  I’m hoping someone with more knowledge than I has a fix, or better yet an easy one :)
