Featured images not shown in Google Search results?

  I always attach featured images to all of my posts. (I’m running Button2 theme in case it matters). However, when I see my pages in Google Search results, it’s always text-only, no thumbnail images on the left of the record, like it’s often displayed with other sites. It’s an annoying issue for me – with a blog oriented around food and crafts, a great deal of my potential audience will click on the visual representation of what a site is offering when they look for ideas through Google Search. I imagine a text-only description is nowhere near as appealing. Is there anything I need to do in order to see my featured images displayed as thumbnails in Google Search results?
