Featured Images not Updating (HOSTED)

  This AM I tried updating the featured images in twentyfourteen (as I have done a million times).

  One image dropped off (which is what I wanted to do) but the other two remain, even though the featured tag is gone. I added the featured tag to three more posts, and they do not appear.

  Any ideas? Not a cache issue on my end.

  PS. This NEVER happened with the old editor…can we get that back please?

  The Classic Editor will continue to exist in wp-admin. We know some users prefer to use this editor, so we want you to have access to it, instead of phasing it out with the new version of the Dashboard. However, a link to the Classic Editor will not return to the New Editor.   The classic editor can be reached here >Dashboard > Posts > Add New

  Staff removed the link in the new editor to the classic editor but there are two workarounds that can be used found here:

  Thanks for the help. That didn’t work though…the tags are still missing in the classic editor. So strange! And the tags are showing on the three I wish to post but they do not appear in the featured section of the theme.

  So this morning I tried updating the featured images and the problem is back. I forgot what I did last time to “fix” it. All of the posts on the featured header are now LACKING the featured tag. Three posts WITH the featured tag are not showing in the featured header.

  Thanks. Appreciate all the links.

  It appears at this time that the system just needs time to show new or updated posts that I want to feature. This morning I removed all three tags (from three posts) and they remained on the home page for about an hour.

  While chatting with support, it updated, showing two that I wanted to show (adding the featured tag this AM). When I updated a third post with the tag, it took about 5 mins to appear on the home page.

  I hope a fix is found for this, as I often change up the featured posts (2x per week) to keep the page looking fresh. Waiting an hour to make a simple update will impact the workflow and timing.

  Glad the immediate concern eventually went through. Testing and working on a report for our developers on this right now. Will report back here whenever I have new info.

  Still looking into a root cause, but in my testing I’ve found opening up the Customizer, making a change to the Featured Content section, changing back to your preferred settings, then saving will immediately refresh the slider.

  Additional steps like this certainly aren’t a great solution, but wanted to let you know until I have some better news. :)

  I”m having the same problem. Thankfully just opening the customizer seems to fix the problem, but it’s frustrating that it’s not happening instantly. Until you determine the problem and find a fix I’ll just continue to open the customizer.
