Featured images question
-
This is more a request for info than a request for help.
I’m trying to choose a new blog theme and am playing with Zoren which doesn’t allow featured images to replace the header on posts the way some themes do. so what DOES the featured image actually DO in Zoren other than show up in the sidebar in the recent posts widgets?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The Featured Image only seems to display on index, category, archive pages, but not on single post page.
Hope this helps.

ok, that’s what i assumed, but I’ve looked at so many themes and read so much documentation for this, that, (and everything else!) that I’ve got myself on info overload!
Thank you for validating me! :) -

Hi, I’m having trouble getting my featured image to display on all my posts. The first 3 posts show the featured image for that post, but the next two do not (even though I have assigned a featured image to the post). It only shows the standard header photo for the page. I can’t for the life of me work out what is different on the first 3 posts from the last 2! southboundblog.com is what I need help with please!

@southgate1blog are you still having issues? Sorry it took so long to get back.
If you are, can you please provide us with the theme you’re using, and link(s) to post you’re having issues with?
Thanks,

Hi Damon,
Thank you for getting back to me – yes I have still having the same issues.
I’m using The Twenty Ten Theme, and this is one of the posts I’m having trouble getting the feature image to show on http://southboundblog.com/2014/05/24/saturday-afternoon/
Thanks,

@southgate1blog, your Featured Images have to be at least 940px wide and 198px high in order to work with the Twenty Ten theme. If they’re larger then they will be cropped, if they’re smaller then they’ll be ignored, which is what you’re experiencing.

Ah ha, thank you very much – that makes sense! I will try to get bigger photos!! Appreciate your assistance :)
