Featured images show up in the banner sometimes, sometimes they don't – why?

  using featured images. When I set the featured image on some of posts, sometimes it shows in the banner, and sometimes not – I don’t understand why as the posts seem to have same settings.

  Examples:
  this one has it set but it does not show in the banner
  http://pekkaniikkonen.com/2012/07/20/a-problem-after-another-repeatedly-sigh/

  and this one has it also set and shows it in the banner
  http://pekkaniikkonen.com/2012/06/10/mid-winter-afternoon-in-kuusamo-finland-2001/

  Any idea why the difference?
