Featured Images to be all the same size on website

  • Unknown's avatar

    Is there a way to have all of my grid featured images to be the same size when posted on the website? I’m finding that the sizes vary and I’d like to keep them in alignment with each other.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

    You will need to add a height to the css for those images.
    Here is the code to use. Please adjust the height to whatever amount you’d like.
    The “object-fit:cover;” is just so the images don’t stretch and will look better. It’s also worth noting that object-fit will not work in Internet Explorer or Edge (the images may be stretched in those browsers. All other modern web browsers support this css property.

    .blog .entry-thumbnail img {
        height: 250px;
        object-fit: cover;
    }

    Happy Blogging!

    Hi!

    I put the code in but it doesn’t seem to be saving even though I click on save. I’ve not had this problem in the past so not sure what to do next.

    Can you help? Thanks!

    Hello, this is a strange problem that I have not seen before either.

    Let me try to help you troubleshoot.

    #1- you need to have purchased the premium package for your website. Which I assume you have done because you can add CSS.

    #2- Can you try this in another web browser? Google Chrome is my personal favorite, but I use Firefox a lot too.

    If either of those don’t work, I’m a little stumped.

    Hi @almurdoch, I went into your customizer and added the CSS @hawaiiwp suggested, and then adjusted the height to 150px, and also to 350px, and the code is working. I would also suggest keeping your image proportions and sizes as they are suggested in the Apostrophe theme showcase page (near the bottom under Quick Specs: 930px by 450px).
