Featured or display images do not post on social media,, ie facebook or twitter..

I’ve never had a problem with featured or display images posting on social media. Then about a week ago they quit posting and instead I got a vanilla image icon,,, I want an image posted on social media along with the article. It has always done so.. Why did it stop??

Hi there,
We have no control over the images that Twitter, Facebook or any other social networks chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.

The fact that posts on both Facebook and Twitter stopped displaying images at the same time indicates that the problem doesn’t lye with either site. It has to be something here.
