  Please follow tutorial with details steps on featured post configuration-

  You can see featured post on home page.
  1. go to Dashboard howtopainless.wordpress.com/wp-admin
  2. Select Appearance in Left Panel -> Customization
  3. Left Panel Homepage setting -> choose latest post
