  Hi,
  I’m wondering if anyone can advise me.
  I have just added some featured Categories to my wordpress site, and changed the amount of posts to show to (1) on homepage.

  Before i did this, the featured Categories showed some the post text content.
  But now it isn’t showing the post text under the featured Category.

  Can anyone please advise me, how to edit it, so post description shows underneath again.

  Hello there, you could make use of the display-posts shortcode to customize how you want to display the posts on a page.

  Display Posts Shortcode

  For example, to display a category named “featured” with full blog content, you may use below shortcode.

  [display-posts category="featured" include_content="true"]

  If you want to display only the excerpt of your blog posts, replace include_content with include_excerpt.

  Hi @kirksbuildnews.

  Can you verify that the site you are having the issue with is kirksbuildnews.wordpress.com?

  When I view that site, it appears that your posts only contain titles and no content.

  For example, in your most recent post all of the text showing appears to be one long post title. There isn’t any content showing in the post content area, which is why you aren’t seeing any on your home page.

  Hi, Thank-You for the replies, its very much appreciated. my website url is: https://www.insomniacs.website

  When the site is in Preview Mode, it shows part of the post, in the feature, which i want it to do. But for some reason, when loaded it isn’t showing it.

  @kirksbuildnews, insomniacs.website is a self-hosted WordPress site rather than one hosted here at WordPress.com. You can find more specific help for self-hosted sites over on the WordPress.org support forums.

  That said, the text you are asking about is called an excerpt, and how it is handled varies from theme to theme. Often, excerpt display on the homepage is controlled by a theme customization setting. You may want to check the documentation for your theme, or ask over on the support forum specific to it for a more direct answer.
