Featured post area in static home page not updating

  I noticed that the featured posts area in my static page does not update unless I go to Themes > Customize. For example, I publish a new post, which contains the tag required for it to appear in the featured posts area. It should automatically show up there, but it doesn’t. It is published in the posts page, but it just doesn’t show up in the featured posts on the homepage. I have to always go to Themes > Customize for my new featured posts to show up. Does anyone know why this is the case? Would be nice to just have the new featured posts appear right away.

  Although I cleared cache as well as did hard refresh in Chrome and nothing changed. Also tested in Firefox where my cache is disabled and same problem persists.

  Hi there,

  Some themes also cache the featured content on our end. In that case the featured post will only appear in the slider once our cache updates, so there might be a delay.

  At the moment all the posts on your site has the featured tag, and they’re all visible in the slider, so it’s impossible for me to check this. If you add a new post to the featured section and it doesn’t show up, please don’t do anything else and comment here so I can take a look.

  I published a new post with the required featured tag, but the post is not appearing in the slider. As advised, I didn’t do anything else after publishing. Hope you could have a look.

  Are you speaking of Revisiting Puerto Rico? I see that post in your site’s slider now. If you haven’t made any changes in the Customizer since, it confirms that the site cache just needed to update for the post to appear.

  In other words, it’s normal that there might be a delay after publishing a post before it will appear in the Slider, but it shouldn’t be more than a few hours. The post will still appear in the Reader and be sent to your email subscribers immediately.
