featured post image apostrophe theme

hi,
i’m trying the apostrophe theme. On the demo (home page) we could see that we have some featured image with double size. I don’t see how to do that. I have always a square image if i had featured image, no options to modify that.

You need to two things to get the double sized images on your homepage.
[1] Define featured tag.
From your Appearance dashboard screen, click on Customize.
In the left hand menu, click on Featured Content.
In the Tag name field, specify a tagname like featured.
This tag name can be any random string like xyzabc.[2] Tag featured posts with featured tag.
From your posts screen, https://teststef.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php, tag the posts with the featured tag you created in step 1 above.
Your featured tags will now have double sized images. I recorded a small screencast for you to show the steps: https://cloudup.com/cEEQESBBsFK

I would add this:
on my wordpress hosting I had to activate the Jetpack plugin (and connect) to see “customization / featured content” and it’s ok.

I think I misread your question. Are you looking for how to set up Related Posts?

I tried to showcase my article the most recent, but an aesthetic problem: the image height is higher than that of an article that is not featured, which creates a white under thereof. Yet on the theme demo “apostrophe”, the 2 images is the same height (though on the one featured is 2 times wider).
What for ?

sottevilleaufildutemps – we had a look a this, and it looks like that featured image is too small to be cropped correctly by the theme. We recommend that featured images on featured posts are a minimum size of 930px wide by 450px high to display correctly on the blog page. If not that large, they should at least follow that ratio of almost 2:1 (width:height).
