Featured post images on the homepage don’t fill the tile

    Hi,

    The 3 featured posts/pages section on the ixion theme homepage doesn’t display the featured image in the thumbnail properly. I have tried smaller sizes like 570×380, even if I maintain the same aspect ratio for the featured images, shows a dark blue bar at the bottom of the thumbnail (the bar thickness varies as image resolution increases).

    I have deliberately set the 1st of these featured tiles to a larger image so someone can take a look and hopefully help (although I am pretty sure this can be replicated on any ixion theme installation).

    I am always having to resize featured images to 570×380 or smaller px if I want to feature those posts on the homepage. Any way around this or can this be fixed in a theme update? I couldn’t find any documentation of recommended featured image sizes to make this work properly. Somehow the ixion demo theme makes it work with 1080×720 images. Am I missing something?

    Thank you for the fast response. I continued trying and figured out that If I crop all the images to the same size then all three would fit. As you can see here:

    But now I don’t like the resolution of the images on each page.

    The image is now smaller and not sharp anymore. Is there a way for me to not show the image on the page, but to still show the image on the homepage (as the featured images in the thumbnail)?

    Hopefully you can still help me with this.

    @tashmness I think I understand.

    Would you be able to crop those images to the same *shape* but at a larger size? Since these images will be custom headers, you’d want them to be at least 1080 pixels wide.

    Unfortunately I can’t, because one of the images is 564 pixels wide.

    Is there a way for me to not show the image on the page, but to still show the image on the homepage (as the featured images in the thumbnail)?

    There isn’t necessarily a way to remove it, but you could hide it with this additional CSS:

    .attachment-ixion-featured-image {
    display: none;
}

    I’ll do it when I purchase the Premium plan. I see that I can’t do it with the Personal plan I have now.
