Featured Post support not included when I installed the Canard Theme

I downloaded the zip file for the Canard theme from your wordpress environment.
When I installed the theme in my wordpress environment, several of the customized options included in the “free” version of the Canard theme on your wordpress environment were not included. I really wanted the “featured” post capability. It was not available when I installed it.
Please help.

On self-hosted sites, Featured Content functionality is driven by the Jetpack plugin. After activating it, you should see the Featured Content panel in the Customizer.

Are there other plugins that I need to take full advantage of the theme?
No – only Jetpack.
Is there a recommended image size for featured image?
The recommended size for featured Images is 1920px wide by 768px high.
