featured post that does not appear
-
hi
i dont see my last post “simplification de fraction” appeating at the top althought the other featured posts do appear there
i often observe that it takes just time to a post to appear at the top
i mean : if send a new featured post, i see it after one second appearing in the front dynamic page, but after only something like one hour, the post moves to the top.
is this normal ?
i use gazette for several websites that i try to use professionaly for maths lessons and it does the same on all.
thanksThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
That post is appearing in the featured section now. But it looks like your theme caches the featured posts, so that section only updates once the site’s cache refreshes, which happens about once every hour or so. So this is normal.
Note that the new post will still appear instantly in the Reader and email notifications for your subscribers. Only the featured content section on your front page is cached.

hi @Kokkieh
on my website https://mathspourcyprian.wordpress.com,
the post named “exercice avec un polynome et une identification”
is featured since yesterday evening and does not appear at the top of the blog…
can the cash be sometimes refreshed at a lower rythm than 1 hour ?

In this case you have too many featured posts. You have 7 posts set as featured in your site, but your theme can only show 6. If you remove the featured tag from one of your other posts, it should start showing that one once the cache next refreshes.

ok sorry i had to know it it was written in the description
now, all is clear

i was wondering wether it would exist a theme, where this possiblity of creating a new post by email that appears at the top when “featured” would not depend on the cache, so that the new post created by email wouls instantantly appear at the top ?

I don’t have any way to tell if a particular theme uses caching for the featured posts or not, so I there is no list I can give you.
You can find a list of all themes that use a grid-layout like Gazette at the link below, though you’ll see those that have a featured content area tend to use a post slider rather than a grid like your theme does.

The only one I know of specifically that uses featured post thumbnails rather than a slider, like Gazette, is Canard:
