‘featured’ tags

  Hi there. I’m not sure why, but my featured tags no longer seem to be working. It’s only been the last month or so where the posts that I’ve marked with the featured tag no longer appear as the first several posts. Now they all are in order by date of the post. Not sure why that happened. Please let me know if there’s something I can do. Thanks!

  Hi there, I’m seeing 5 featured posts on your main page right now. Did you get this sorted out?

  i have the main post and 4 more underneath and below it has the rest of the posts…the problem is, the posts i have marked as “featured” are not in the first 5 on top…its all strictly in order by date…

  You currently have ten posts tagged as “featured”. However, your theme only displays up to five posts in the Featured Content area, and it will use the five most recent posts that are marked as featured. Those are the posts that are appearing at the top of your front page for me:

  

  The older featured posts will appear in their position according to publication date, rather than at the top. That is how your theme is designed to work.

  You might be able to force the older posts to the top by marking them as sticky posts instead, though I’m not sure how that will work with the featured tag your theme uses.

  thanks for getting back to me…i really appreciate it…so, i went back to look at all of my former posts an i see 3 that are marked as featured, none of which are actually at the top of my posts…its very strange…i also notice that some posts that i mark as featured seem to lose that tag and i dont know how that would happen?
  is there something im not doing right? like i mentioned in an earlier post on this thread, this seems to be a recent problem and i just cant figure out how to address it…any thoughts?

  Where are you only seeing three posts with the featured tag? I just took a look at your tags here:
  https://wordpress.com/settings/taxonomies/post_tag/samsminiarmy.wordpress.com
  

  By clicking the three-dot menu then clicking “View Posts” you’ll see which posts they are and be able to untag the posts you don’t want to be shown as featured.

  wow that got it!!! i think maybe the admin page ive been using looks completely different i may be using an older version and is having some issues with some functionality? whatever the case may be this worked and ive got it set how i wanted it…thanks to all of you for your help!!!
