Feaured Images not working (Oxygen Theme)

  I’m trying to add the most recent post to appear in the slider. However when I add it as a sticky, it doesn’t appear in the slider OR Recent Articles underneath. Is there something I’m not doing correctly?

  When you create a featured post with a featured image and that post appears in the post slider, it does not appear again on the same page in the stream of posts.
