Feeburner Email Form
-
In wordpress.com I add to a text widget the code supplied by feedburner that I believe is supposed to allow me to have a form (text box labeled “Enter Email” or something, and a Submit button). Whenever I save the widget, wordpress.com strips out the form stuff. I CAN have a link to a signup page, which is OK but not everything I dreamed for. :) Is putting forms in text widgets just not allowed in wordpress.com? Is there a workaround to get an emal form posted?

What you’re using now is what we are able to use. What about it falls short of your dreams? It gets the job done with little fuss.

No there is no “work-around.” WordPress.com is a multi-user blogging platform and we are restricted from embedding forms, iframes, shockwave, flash, etc. The software will strip the codes for these out to preserve security. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/07/wordpresscom-vs-wordpressorg/
As ellaella has told you this is what we can use http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/10/11/how-can-i-offer-email-updates/
If you have a domain and you purchase domain mapping from wp.com then check this out http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/05/23/gmail-mx/
If you feel this is a “deal breaker” then the other wordpress alternative may suit your needs better. Hosting is inexpensive. You can hire a webhost and have him download the freestanding software from http://wordpress.org free of charge https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=3700
