Feed Burner Question, thanks!
-
I just transferred over to wordpress and I use Feed Burner…
for my blog I am using… http://feeds.feedburner.com/piecesofmejen
but when you click on the SUBSCRIBE ICON at the top it shows this link… http://piecesofmejen.wordpress.com/feed/
how can I make them just ONE link to my feed burner?
thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The only icon I see on your blog is the feed count icon for feedburner at the top, which takes me to your feedburner feed.
What other “icon” are you talking about?
-
you know when you go to my page
in the address bar on TOP, the SUBSCRIBE TO orange icon, when you click on it in the address bar …?
that is a different feed.
I want it to be ONE feed. like I had it on BLOGGER.
thanks!

There is no way to change that, and that link and admin bar are only for people who have an account here and are logged into wordpress.COM.
My opinion? Personally I’m not at all a fan of having people make choices for me, and if they force me into a certain feedreader or feed aggregator, I just turn around and go the other way. I like the quick, clean and simple feed that wordpress puts out. Each person should be able to choose what reader and what service they want to use, and I prefer to use the reader facility built into my Safari browser.

The orange icon in the browser address bar is part of the browser itself. You cannot control other people’s browsers.

What I want to do is have ONE address / ONE link to my FEED
not TWO, if they click on top that is one feed
if they click on my FEED burner that is another…get me?

I don’t think you are understanding, thanks though… :)

I do understand. You don’t understand. You cannot change the RSS built in the browser address bar. What are you going to do travel to each blog visitor’s house and hack the code for their browser?
You can’t change the browser’s RSS facility. That is built into the browser by whoever built the browser.

WordPress could, if they wished, provide a choice, but they do not. And in the case of Firefox (47% of the browsers on the internet) it would not make a difference if wordpress provided a choice or not because FF would ignore that and use their own bizarre and twisted built-in RSS bookmarking thing anyway.

Blogger has a redirect facility built in. WordPress does not. And again from my perspective I don’t like being forced into a certain feedreader. People should have the choice of which reader they use.
-
I guess what my point in doing this for is…to track my readers…get me?
maybe there is a way to use the one they give me as my main one for my FEED BURNER ACCOUNT? -
Original Feed: http://piecesofmejen.wordpress.com/feed/ (Feed published on your site)
Feed Address: http://feeds.feedburner.com/piecesofmejen (Your FeedBurner feed)here is how it looks right now in my feedburner account..
-
The best you can do here is to put a prominent feed icon and feed link to your feedburner account in your sidebar and then hope that people use that one instead of the RSS in their own browser. Tracking is always difficult since there are so many feed aggregators out there, and each person has their preference.
