feed contains no content? MagpieRSS
-
I am trying to use MagpieRSS to read a feed from a client’s site. His blog is atlantadings.wordpress.com. His feed is http://en.atlantadings.wordpress.com/feed
The content for his posts is apparently in a tag called <content:encoded> but I can’t seem to get the content out of the feed. All I get for the entire content of each post is a single capital letter A, which also happens to be what is in <atom_content>.
Using validators and other readers, such as Mac Mail, I can see the post’s content, but I can’t get at it via PHP and MagpieRSS.
I have used MagpieRSS before with success. I don’t understand what I am doing wrong.

Are aware that all l wordpress.COM blogs have feeds for both entries and comments? For email subscriptions we can use feedburner or the subscription widget.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/feeds/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/rss-widget/
entries http:// insertblogname.wordpress.com/feed/
comments http://insertblogname.com/comments/feed/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-subscriptions/ -
OOPS! I’m sorry I forgot to include the word “you” in the first sentence. It should have read: “Are you aware … ”

Yikes! Am I ever having a bad day. :( For comments the feed is:
comments http://insertblogname.wordpress.com/comments/feed/ -
There is no en in the url at all.
entries http://atlantadings.wordpress.com/feed/
comments http://atlantadings.wordpress.com/comments/feed/ -
I got the “en” thing from here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/feeds/But the problem happens whether it’s in there or not. And yes I am aware about the many feed urls, but it’s the main content I need, not comments

http://atlantadings.wordpress.com/comments/feed/ is the comments feed, but you will get the “no comments” until some comments have been made and published on the blog. If there are no comments, then there is nothing for the feed to show.

Try both of the following. Some feed readers and such are whiny about the ending slash mark.
http://atlantadings.wordpress.com/feed
http://atlantadings.wordpress.com/feed/Also, give this a try. This is the actual feed link for the theme you are using (link in RSS feed in sidebar).

With or without a slash, I get the same behavior. The content prints out, but it is a single capital letter A.
It also happens with /?feed=rss2.
I just tried /?feed=atom and the [atom_content] part of the feed contains the content I wanted. I’ve never used atom before.
This is so weird.
