  Hmm, I have been absorbed with my blog and not paying attention to the developements on WordPress. I see that Andy posted:

  Feed Oddities

  Some people noticed some blog feeds that were showing posts from other blogs. Thanks in part to their quickly blogging the issue, we located and resolved the problem. A few people concluded that their blog’s feed had been compromised. We just wanted to let you know that there was no hacking involved.

  The problem was caused by a bug in a new piece of software we are building to keep your blogs and feeds working quickly under heavy loads. If you saw wrong content in your feed, nobody hacked your blog or your feed. It was a software glitch. We are sorry about that. Blog on. :-)

  Are we getting feed reader stats back or have we already gotten feed reader stats back and I missed the announcement? Can some on fill me in on what Andy is refering to please. Thank you much!

  Sorry – the stats are not back.

  The software is just to serve the feeds, not count any details.

  Yes, I have read Andy’s announcement http://wordpress.com/blog/2007/07/09/feed-oddities/
  But we cannot “fill me in on what Andy is referring to please” because we have no information in addition to what was posted. And, I see no indication in that announcement the feed stats are about to be instituted again.

  I believe he is saying the software that was fixed did not count feed reader stats.

  This is what I make of it:

  The feed software had a bug which was displaying wrong feeds or other peoples feed, say for example the bug would make my feed link display your posts as well. That bug has been fixed and the software or the bug fix has nothing to do with feed stats.

  There was a bug in the software that served up other people blog feeds that was causing problems, so they are working on it. The ‘feed stats’ that were removed earlier were a completely different thing that is still in the works and not back yet.

  This problem happened to me on a day in which my stat count was shooting through the roof for the very first time and you can read about it in my latest post. Matt has apologised in the comments. All is well again.
