feed validator says invalid MIME type for player enclosure

    i burn the feed at feedburner http://feeds.feedburner.com/meterdownblog
    i use the [audio http] as described in the FAQ. It works on the blog fine. however it was not formatting correctly in the google reader (only 1 in 3 mp3 enclosures showing up).

    i ran the feed thru feed validator and it came back with “type attribute of enclosure must be a valid MIME type”
    pointing to a line with: <enclosure url=”http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/161488_g2kkm/outtake_batameez.mp3″ length=”6121570″ type=”audio/mpeg mpga mp2 mp3″ />
    (for all 6 enclosures)

    also “content encoded should not contain object tag” and “contant encoded should no contain param tag” for the line with:

    i looked in the forums and didn’t see a slew of hits on this which is what i would expect if it were a player enclosure problem so I was wondering what I might be doing to cause this.

    If feeds aren’t validating, that sounds like a bug. Whether it is a bug they’re willing to fix or not, I don’t know. (Feed specs are a deeply complicated and politically fraught field, which I try to keep away from.)

    If you have a support button in your dashboard, try reporting it there. If you don’t have a support button in your dashboard, email support@wordpress.com and cross your fingers.
