Feedback on New Editor

  Hi Folks,

  Just briefly:

  Love how the page doesn’t need to reload when updating.

  But:

  1.) Would prefer seeing the font in use. Sometimes I use fonts other than the default font in a given theme.

  2.) Choosing categories doesn’t work for me. Not all the categories are listed in the drop down, let alone nested categories. If one uses many categories, the new feature simply isn’t reliable or usable. Typing them in from memory is hazardous because one can, *without warning*, duplicate a category (add *new* duplicates); and I still haven’t sorted out how to accurately “pick” nested categories. The category feature of the new editor simply doesn’t work for me. I’m forced to go back to the dashboard and rely on “Quick Edit” (for a checklist of categories) or to return to the old Editor (which is what I presently do).

  The Tag editor, though not as critical in terms of organizing ones blog, suffers from the same drawback. The drop down menu isn’t reliable.

  Hi Will,

  Thank you very much for the well-stated feedback.

  There’s lots of active work going on both in the presentation of the Visual Editor (which includes fonts) and how we handle categories. So I’ve brought these requests to the developers working those issues.
