Feedback on the "New Experience"
-
Hi – Love WordPress – use it as foundation for all the sites I build but confused and dismayed by ‘new look/feel/navigation’ at my .com (free) site – Don’t like the new post mechanism – love my old dashboard, and yes, I’ll adjust, but just saying – not to my liking.
From my reader/stats page, I used to be able to hover over my ‘account’ link at top of page and ‘log-out’ without first clicking over to “my account” and then signing out.
I’m sure there are multiple reasons for the upgrades being as they are – – I confess to not liking upgrades unless they make my life easier, not harder – – –
I will tell you that I return to ‘classic’ dashboard or ‘WP Admin” to do what I want to do – – that I had extra clicks/page loads to arrive at “logging out” screen from my reader — I can hover/log-out link click when I’m visiting other sites, via the navigation bar- why not from my reader? Am I in need of a theme upgrade to allow this? AND if I’m just missing something, feel free to tell me so – – -I’m aware I don’t know it all – – –
That said – – I still love you guys, your vision, your work – I appreciate WordPress and all it’s inherent visions – – -just have been struggling with the ‘new & improved’ version for weeks now and, like Windows 8, didn’t send feedback until I had time to adjust – – perhaps I need better adjusting, or perhaps, this feedback will enable you to make this and future upgrades more user friendly – –
Not my call on what your upgrades include/delete – but never think my angst/frustration is personal – – just give me some guidance and/or fix navigation avenues to make it easy for new users (and old ones) to love you ! :)

You are not alone. The main thread for posting feedback is this one https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/massive-changes-to-the-wp-interface?replies=218

Thank you, timethief – – Alas, I’ve never had cause to use the forums for posting, other than to read/learn how-to – – thanks for the link and I’ll try to figure out a way to get this deleted from here and in it’s proper place – – – Thank You!

Just copy and paste what you posted above into that thread and it will be over and done with. :)

Copied/Pasted to relevant thread indicated – changed status of this to ‘not a support question’ because I couldn’t find how to delete it – – -Sorry you jumped in to help? LOL
In going through the thread/links, seems these are all changes to move towards a ‘downsized’ experience (i.e. phones/tablets/touch screen – i.e. Windows 8) LOL – – can you tell I gave up on Windows 8 after a year of trying to overcome my resistance to massive change?!? :)
I understand ‘improving/doing better’ – I feel our species has survived off this motto – – but still, in my own little prejudices, the geek techs are building for ‘better’ about 20 years out from what is ‘better’ for average user, right now – – – which is why I have a job — – – :) My job, in a variety of companies/free lance positions these past few years has been, “Find what works for you – learn it – stick with it, until the coders make it plain they have no interest in you as an end-user – then switch” – – -I realize I’m on my soap box, but c’mon! What good is an upgraded experience if it doesn’t serve your majority customer base? And 8 pages of “the same complaints’ indicates, it’s not, if factor in “those who are unhappy will not tell you, but 10 other people” rule of thumb standards – – – :)
Thanks timethief for getting me over to the write place, and, if you’ve read this far, for listening to my frustration….. :)
