Feedback: Twenty Twenty-Five theme display options

The new default theme https://wordpress.com/theme/twentytwentyfive/ offers several display options:

    • Personal Blog (default)
    • Text Only Blog
    • Photo Blog
    • News Blog

When activating the theme, it’s the default Personal Blog. It’s then left up to the site owner to figure out how to wrangle the other options. Frankly, it’s not very clear to the average site owner (myself included) how to do that.

In the Theme Showcase, Twenty Twenty-Five appears only under the Blog tab. Would it be possible to add it under other relevant sections with those other display options already enabled, such as Photo Blog under Portfolio, or News Blog under Magazine? This would make it much easier for the average site owner (myself included) to activate the theme with our chosen display already enabled.

    Thanks for listening.

  • Hi there! 👋🏼

What you outline here is a great suggestion. It has undoubtedly been a challenge to communicate the flexibility of newer themes (like Twenty-Twenty-Five) in terms of the theme showcase. As you mentioned, most newer block-based themes can be configured to be any kind of site using Block Patterns that are included or by crafting your own layouts and designs using the editor.

I’ll certainly pass this suggestion along. Thank you for providing it!
