feedburner and dashboard stats

hi there, i was reading this other forum post about site meter and it didnt really provide any answers. maybe coz im a tech-dumbass.
btw, thanks in advance to those who will be replying.
anywho, going to my stats in feedburner, it says i have ZERO (!!??) visitors – disparaging, isnt it? – and on my dashboard it says I;ve had several hundred.
Why is this? and which one’s right? can i assume that i didnt set up feedburner correctly since there’s nothing to set in dashboard?

It means that nobody has read the Feedburner feed. Hundreds may read the blog, though. Have you offered your Feedburner feed to your blog readers? You have to put it in a text or RSS widget in the sidebar or nobody will know about it.

To get the stats for your regular WP.com blog, click on any particular post on the Stats page and it’ll bring up a graph with stats for that post, including the WordPress.com feed.

that’s probably why. i thought that by registering with feedburner, hits on my blog would be automatically registered and the figures on the dashboard and feedburner would roughly tally. so i have to go and figure this out. thanks raincoaster.
