feedburner question
-
I know feedburner is a separate entity, but I imagine lots of folks here use it.
I tried to find a “contact us” on the feedburner site, but they seem to hide themselves way too well…
When I look at the stats of my feedburns, I see a graphic and a number of subscribers per day – what exactly does that mean? For instance to find out how many subscribers I have, do I add the numbers for each day? Or the number that shows today IS my total number?
I see some variation as time went by, the number associated with each day went down and up, indicating that maybe each day is reporting only the “new subscriptions”, but I wanted to make sure I get it right.
if this has been asked before, feel free to send me to another thread.
thank you!

The top graph are the subscribers:

Basically it is an inferred number and an approximation of how many times your feed has been requested in a 24-hour period, not a true count of your subscribers. I see it as an estimation of my feed readership, but not my blog readership
The bottom graph is the reach:

This is the total number of people who have taken action — viewed or clicked — on the content in your feed, i.e. people actively engaging with your feed.
I’m not sure this is helpful, is it? -
Well, husdal…. I am not quite sure :-)
The bottom line is, I was getting all happy thinking that every day I had that many “new subscribers”, and now I see that those are just my closest friends trying to make me happy
my ego has been brutally hurt. :-)
