Feedburner vs. blog subscriptions

I just switched from the Blog Subscriptions widget to Feedburner, mainly because that seems like what everyone else does. Now my dashboard says something like, “Use the Blog Subscriptions widget for more features”. Does it matter which I use? Is one better than the other? I’m just starting out so I want to get it figured out so I don’t have to change it.

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m a long time user of Feedburner for providing my readers with email updates and that’s why I’m reluctant to switch. Hopefully, someone who has made the switch from Feedburner to wordpress.com subscriptions will be able to provide a comparison for you.

Other than the perceived convenience of being able to use the WordPress.com dashboard to see your blog subscribers, I don’t see any difference.

There is a very big difference between Feedburner emails and the WordPress Email subscription, the difference is very visible in Gmail at least. The difference shows up when you post pictures in your blog post. The feedburner email would not align your picture but the WordPress email does. The emails look way better in WordPress email than it does in Feedburner. In fact, the style sheet WordPress email uses is superior to anything I have seen anywhere (for the price, which is free). I would switch to WordPress subscription email in a heartbeat.
