Feeling discombobulated…..

  Ok… I’ve read where if I create an account on wordpress.com (which I did), I am only limited to using the themes that are currently being offered. However, I have run across a couple of sites which seem to be hosted here on wordpress.com but are using customized themes or theme templates downloaded from other sites.

  How is this possible? And how can this be done for I’d like to use a fishing theme as I’m an avid fisherman and want to use something that reflects my interests.

  Although there are no fishing themes here many themes allow for a customized header. Therefore you can create a fishing theme styling for your blog and upload the image to it. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/07/08/which-themes-can-i-add-a-header-image-to/

  Themes from other sites cannot be uploaded here. There are 2 different wordpresses and they run on different software. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=3700

  Lastly, provided you have css customization experience you can purchase a css upgrade and do the work yourself that’s required to change the appearance of your theme. personalizing your blog
