Fictive Social Buttons
-
How do I customize the social link buttons with a specific image? Appears twitter, facebook, instagram are already embedded somewhere so they default to that image. Im trying to link to http://www.bloglovin.com but it does not put its logo image of a “B” there. How can I achieve that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there! I believe what you are trying to accomplish can be found here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-social-media-buttons-to-your-sidebar-or-footer/
Here’s a link from Bloglovin that should give you more specific instructions on how to integrate it into your site.
http://help.bloglovin.com/knowledgebase/articles/214426-how-do-i-create-my-own-widget-button
The steps do involve a little bit of HTML editing, but the instructions are pretty straightforward and is very specific on what information is needed to fill in. You also will need to download the image of the icon you would like to display and add it to your media library. The “B” icon can be found here:

Good luck and let me know how it goes! :)

Thanks dmcwong, your tips gave me a work around but not what I was looking to accomplish, but I think I’m fine with going this route, if what I really want is not doable.
But let me ask the question in a different way to see if this can be done….under my image header do you see the 3rd button looks generic? That’s the button/link image I want to change. Can this be accomplished via CSS? If I use “inspect element” via firefox…I see the CSS but not sure what to manipulate to add the image to the link.
Hope that explains better what I want to accomplish. Thanks.

Sorry about that. I understand what you are trying to accomplish now. I’m no css expert so I don’t want to mislead you. But I do now that in order to customize the design you will need to either have a Premium or Business plan. If you want to test it out first before purchasing they allow you do that too here.
Here is more information about custom css.

https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/editing-css/Lastly, I found a thread regarding this very same thing you are trying to accomplish with the same theme. You can test out the css on your page to see if the icon will appear as you want it to under your image header. If you “inspect element” like you’ve already done you should be able to find which “menu-item” number to replace as well as replacing the url of the picture in your media library.

The folks over at the css section should be able to help you out better if you have specific css questions. Hope I at least got you further along. :)
