Fields not saving in text/social media icon widgets
-
Every time I enter details into the fields none of the information saves – just remains blank and of course doesn’t publish
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
@mycircleuk – could you help me understand the problem a little better… I didn’t see any forms on your website. So I think maybe you mean in the WordPress dashboard?
-
-
Yes, it’s when I enter them in the dashboard – I save the words / images etc but when I save it refreshes and remains blank.
The same with the social media icon widget too.
I’m not a coder – so have no idea what to do from that side of things!
Thank you…
-
Try looking behind the Visibility button. Maybe something inadvertently got in there and it is hiding the content.
-
-
Ok. You’ve added a widget and clicked “save & publish” at the top and it is still not showing up. I’ll tag this thread for you so that staff can take a look.
-
-
And yes, have added the widget, tried to add some text and then press save (no publish button comes up) and nothing happens. It refreshes with all of the info missing
-
Hi there,
Sometimes it happens because of the browser issues.
So, try clearing your browser cache and cookies. Once done, re-login into your account.Hope this helps!
-
Ah thanks – have just tried that and it hasn’t worked :-(
So frustrating as I just want to make some additions to the site
-
Oh yes this happened to me too! When the “publish” option goes missing. I was able to back out a bit by closing the customizer (the tiny “x” at top left) and reopening to get it to “refresh”. @krutidugade ‘s suggestion should work too!
-
Oh really, logging off WordPress.com and signing back in and still no “publish” option in the customizer?
-
No – I’ve logged in and out several times today to try and fix this. Still the same issue.
I’ve been working on this 6hrs now! Eek…..
-
Oh no. I’m sorry this is happening to you. Take a break! It has been tagged for staff to take a look so let’s see what they say.

Hi @mycircleuk,
Your site http://www.mycircle.org.uk is a Self Hosted WordPress site, your best place to get help would be on the ORG support forums. You can post your query on the ORG Dara theme page here:
https://wordpress.org/support/theme/dara
Also, I suggest trying using the Wp-Admin to configure your Widgets. You can use this link to access your Wp-admin: http://www.mycircle.org.uk/wp-admin
If still, you are not able to configure it, I would suggest posting it on the forum link provided above. Make sure to provide details and link, so it’s easy for someone to help you there.
This forum is for WordPress.com folks, to know the difference have a look here:
WordPress Com vs WordPress ORG
Hope you get it resolved soon.
Thanks!

@pavanraheja
It is a self-hosted site but the user has Jetpack plugin installed. If you inspect the site, you would notice it. As Jetpack is installed, the user is managing site via WordPress.com account. I have checked the site on Jetpack Debug and it says everything is fine.
So there’s a possibility the issue is with Calypso. I maybe wrong but am curious to know why the user is unable to save the contents.
Let’s just wait and hear from staff. -
@krutigade: Thanks for the information, yeah completely aware it’s Jetpack connected – possibility if it’s a Calypso based issue.
Would be interesting to hear from staff. -
Thanks @pavanraheja – it’s not a configuration issue – it’s that the info/details in the fields disappear when I save it.
And yes, using wordpress.com and jetpack.
Hopefully staff will be able to help – as I would like to do simple things like add a mumsnet bloggers logo to the side panel, but this is working either.
Thanks all.
