Figuring out my rss url.

  I’ve worked for three hours now trying to understand how to find my blog site’s rss url so I can set up the feed to my Amazon author page. Amazon asked me for the rss url. I’ve been reading various instructions pertaining to rss feed on WordPress and Amazon, but have become more and more confused. I am not very tech literate and didn’t even know what an rss feed was. Apparently I still don’t know.

  How do I find my rss url?

  Amazon said it would be in the form of:

  http://www.omnivoracious.com/atom.xml
  http://www.aldenteblog.com/rss.xml
  http://www.chordstrike.com/index.rdf

  Then I read where I was to include “/feed/” after the “.com” for WordPress feeds.

  So, for the rss feed widget in WordPress, I input http://en.blog.thebenevolentthou.com/feed

  Then I tried the following at the Amazon site:

  http://en.blog.thebenevolentthou.com/feed/ (as per WordPress instructions).
  http://thebenevolentthou.com/feed/index.rdf
  http://thebenevolentthou.com/feed/rss.xml
  http://thebenevolentthou.com/feed/adam.xml
  http://en.blog.thebenevolentthou.com/feed/index.rdf
  http://en.blog.thebenevolentthou.com/feed/adam.xml
  http://en.blog.thebenevolentthou.com/feed/rss.xml

  Now, I am completely lost. What the hell am I doing wrong?

  Your RSS feed lives at the following URL:

  http://thebenevolentthou.com/feed/

  Can you give that a try at Amazon? I think the en.blog. portion of the previous try was getting us tripped up.

  Sorry Jeremy, but I’ve been there done that. All I get at that address (and I’ve been there several times, is:

  “This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.”

  Then, of course, below that message I get a full page of html language which I cannot understand. I even placed that very link at the Amazon Site, tested it, and got the same garbled page.

  Either of the following URLs should work:

  thebenevolentthou.wordpress.com/feed
  
  thebenevolentthou.com/feed

  I don’t see those URLs in the list of ones you’ve already tried. Can you give those each a shot? If they don’t work, can you take a screenshot of the full page where you’re typing the URL in and the error message you’re getting and upload that screenshot to your Media Library?
