File Attachments not Imported to wordpress.com from Self Hosted blog

    So I tried importing content from my website to my wordpress.com blog, as mentioned here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/#importing-content-from-another-platform-or-wordpress-blog

    But while it imported the posts and pages, it has NOT imported the images.

    This page says there should be an option to ‘Import File attachments’ *but i never saw one*.

    What can I do now? Manually uploading and re-inserting each image is out of the question!

    Hi there. Is your website still live? The import file does not contain actual images, but only links to where they are hosted, so if you had already deleted them from your website or your website was no longer live at the time you imported to WordPress, then there would have been no images at the links for WordPress.com to fetch.

    I do see images in your posts, so perhaps check again whether they aren’t perhaps in your media library now.

    If your website is still live and still containing the images, and they still have not appeared in your media library (sometimes images can take a bit longer than posts and pages to make it across) let us know.
