file fath URL

  When I go to add the forum and use “existing file path installation” The file path that is automatically selected is the path to my host and the file where it is located. However that is not the way that the file opens. where is this path being detect from? It is causing me a problem in another area too. I am using a plugin for BuddyPress called Group Documents to upload documents to the page. When you go to open the document the path in the url includes the path to my server. Here is an example of what I am talking about.
  Path being detected
  http://ambassador-ministries.org/home/users/web/b1658/moo.brianrhunt/ambassadorministries/pals/wp-content/uploads/group-documents/1/1298397828-Flash1.pdf
  The path should be
  http://ambassador-ministries.org/pals/wp-content/uploads/group-documents/1/1298397828-Flash1.pdf Where is /home/users/web/b1658/moo.brianrhunt/ambassadorministries
  being detected from This is what is showing up in both places
