“file not found” from home page?

Okay, I admit I’m new to this and I’m very aware I could have let my mouse click on something it should not have BUT, when I go my newly created site the header graphic, sidebar info, and everything else boiler-plate all shows up but the text below it says: “Not Found. Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post.” I have created one new menu item in addition to the home menu item. The new item I made works just fine. When you click on “home” however, you get nothing as it just reloads the same root page as described earlier. This really is not what I want the first page of the blog to show. Help.

You may have deleted the first “Hello World” placeholder post, therefore nothing is showing up. Create a post. :)

It’s very common and very alarming, but not to worry. If you make a regular blog post, it’ll show up there and the error message goes away.
