File still available even after I have deleted it and then my whole site.

    There was a document on my site that contained emails for people that I was working with. As these people don’t want their emails to remain public I took it off the page before I made it public. I didn’t realise however that through google the document is still accessible. So even though I never tried to put it online it is still causing problems. So I then deleted the document from my media section of my site. It still comes up on google. So I then deleted the whole site and it STILL comes up on google. Does anyone have any ideas about how to get rid of it?

    Google caches sites that they have already crawled, you can request that outdated content be removed here – https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals?pli=1

    Just to add a bit to Keegansingh, sometimes your own browser is caching the document, while others cannot actually see the document. Try asking a friend to view the URL where the document is kept. Also, try clearing your browser cache then checking the link again.
