That has recently been added. I’d like to allow anyone to post anything they want anonymously, if they wish. Is there any way for me to revert back to as it was with the Discussion Settings’ “Comment author must fill out name and e-mail” unclicked?

Leaving that unclicked no longer allows anyone to freely make a comment.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What details are they asked to fill in?

Did you know that each and every day 80% or more of the comments submitted to WordPress.com blogs are spam? If you are going to choose to allow that then you had better set the blog up so you Moderate each and every comment, because your blog will be mercilessly spammed by robots and by humans who are paid to post spam comments.

Thanks for the info. The problem I’m having is a recent one. I’ve had the site set up as described and haven’t had any problems. The thing is it appear that WP is no longer giving me the option of letting anyone post. (Not that I get many–human or robot)

There’s a way around the problem of spam that you mentioned. All you need to do is to click: Comment author must have an approved comment.

I haven’t had to resort to that, but that would eliminate–or at least drasticaly cut back on–spam.

On this spage > Settings > Siscussion
    I see this:
    Other comment settings
__Other comment settings Comment author must fill out name and e-mail
__Users must be registered and logged in to comment

Don’t you see the __Users must be registered and logged in to comment on that page on your blog?

    Thank you timethief and raincoaster.

I just checked my site and the area for filling in name and emal address are no longer there. I went to a friends site last evening; someone who never had the requirement of filling them out on hers, and it was there also.

Apparently it was a glitch that WP has corrected.
