Film piracy site on wordpress?

    Dear WordPress,
    I am an indie filmmaker.
    I recently found my movie illegally posted on what seems to be a pirate site – http://www.vikv.net
    At the bottom of the site, it says it is ‘powered by WordPress’.
    Is this true? If so, would you please take down this site?
    Or if not, why not?

    Hi Mark,

    the site you mentioned was created using free WordPress software, from WordPress.org but it’s not hosted on our servers (WordPress.com) so we can’t help you with that.

    To clear up any further confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. We, WordPress.com are a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites whereas WordPress.org is a stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting.
