Filter by Post Date

I’m using posts on my website to display future gigs for my band. I would like to automatically suppress the display of posts for which the post date is prior to ‘today’. Can anyone suggest a way to do that without manually deleting the posts?

Without seeing your site I can’t guess if by a “today” post you mean you just want to display one post. I don’t even know if you’re talking about a WordPress.com site.

One thought is that you could change the number of posts visible to one (or however many are dated “today”) and disabling infinite scroll by going to “Settings” “Reading” in the wp-admin dashboard.

I apologize for not making myself clear.

    Yes, I’m talking about WordPress.

I’m creating posts for each of the band’s future gigs. I would prefer to not have to manually delete a post if it is in the past; i.e., the gig has been played. I was hoping “today” could be a tokenized variable that could be passed to some programmatic filter.

    The website is here: eaglemaniaband.com

As an example, I would like to no longer display the 12/31/2016 gig post as of January 1, 2017.

You’re asking about a WordPress.org site and these are the WordPress.com forums where the amount of customization we can make is fairly limited. At WordPress.org customization is infinite and there could well be a way to do exactly what you require, but you’ll need to ask in their forum:-

I was hoping someone knew of a plug-in, one that I was unable to find, that would do what I wanted.
