Filtering Blog Posts in Widget

  I see that I can add a widget with recent blog posts, but I also need to be able to filter the posts in the widget by tag/category/author. Is there any way to do this?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Usually I’m not a fan of the rtfm, but in this case, I saw that I didn’t scroll down all the way to see the short-code notes. It looks like this may be the ticket.
