Find and contact site owner
-
The answer to my question may be here somewhere, but I didn’t find it. My apologies if I missed it.
There is a WP.com site (therightdirection.wordpress.com) that looks like it was set up in 2007 and hasn’t been used. Is there anyway to find out who the owner is and contact them? I have a sneaking suspicion it may actually be me from another (outdated) email address but I don’t now for sure. And if it isn’t me, and if the owner truly isn’t going to use it, I would like to contact them about transferring it to me.
Is such a thing possible?

Sorry, the issue is not with greatlandmedia.wordpress.com. I just didn’t get the drop down changed correctly. My bad. :(

Hi @greatland1959, no worries.
Have you tried commenting on a post and checking all your old emails? You could even comment asking if they’re interested in transferring the site. Then if you get the email, you’ll know. If you don’t, whoever owns the site likely will, if they still use that email address.
Hoping this helps!

@Supernovia, I’ll try the leaving a comment thing. But if it is mine from an old email address I don’t use any more (we’ve all done that) I wouldn’t get the response. Which was sorta why I was hoping I could find out the contact info for the site from the staff.

I’m afraid we can’t give you any personal information about a user. Also, there is no way for us to know if the site was yours. When you create an account, all we ask for is a username, email address and password.
You can check out this page and try to fill out the Account Recovery form to regain access to the account:
