We think this domain was registered for my organization in the past but we don’t have the access information. I requested access several weeks ago and again today but haven’t received a response.

Can staff see if the registering email is part of our domain?

I requested access several weeks ago and again today but haven’t received a response.
if you completed the account recovery form at https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery the Account Recovery Team will respond as soon as they can. They have a backlog. Staff work through tickets in order of datestamps and timestamps – first posted first served, as would be expected. How long it takes to clear the threads and support tickets depends on how many Staff are working on them at any given point in time. It also depends on how complex the issues in each request are. Do not contact them more than once, because if you do the timestamp will be more recent than the original request so it will take longer to get help.
