The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi Guadalupe,

    WordPress.com name servers are:
    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

You also need to use the domain mapping feature for it to work. You can read more here:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

Thank you so much! You are a jewel!

I seem to have pointed my account to my original wordpress http://www.graceonyou.com- however didn’t back it up so now hostgator is asking me to create a back up before I cancel or lose all my content. Instructions are on their way!

Other unresolved issue is my original email accounts – they are pointed to hostgator and even they do not seem to know how to unpoint them aka redirect them back to gmail where I created them in 2011. One support person told me they became owners of my (email visible only to moderators and staff) & info@graceonyou when I had them host me. Yikes is that true???

fstat! There seems to be a ton of info on how to move your site to a host but little to none and moving it back to wordpress. Am I asking the wrong question??? Thank you again for your quick response! Sincerely, Guadalupe

  • You’re welcome!

I seem to have pointed my account to my original wordpress http://www.graceonyou.com- however didn’t back it up so now hostgator is asking me to create a back up before I cancel or lose all my content. Instructions are on their way!

If you want to use that domain name (graceonyou.com) here you first need to map it by following these instructions:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
Also, read these instructions on how to move your site’s contents at WordPress.com:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/view-all/

Other unresolved issue is my original email accounts – they are pointed to hostgator and even they do not seem to know how to unpoint them aka redirect them back to gmail where I created them in 2011. One support person told me they became owners of my [email redacted] & info@graceonyou when I had them host me. Yikes is that true???

WordPress.com doesn’t offer full email hosting, but you can connect another email provider to your custom domain (such as Google):
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-email/

I hope I steered you in the right direction. Read the documents I have linked and If you need extra help with moving to WordPress.com you can always notify the Support Staff by adding the tag modlook to the right sidebar of this topic.
