Finding a specific theme!
-
This guy who spent 30-years in computer application design does like user forums and FAQs. I use approximately 200 application. Your new application, for me to learn, is added to the list. What I will never understand with applications that provides long lists for their users to selection one from, in your case the theme list, why isn’t the list in alphabetical order? I was advised to use ‘Launch Effect’ as my first try. I don’t have time to trial test the many themes you display right now. I want Launch Effect! When user forums and FAQs are included as a “Help me’ part of an application’s functions, it tells me they designed their application complicated. If it was designed right, there would be a lot less questions and for sure no need for user forums and FAQs. And for those who do ask questions the application should have their customer relations personnel take the calls. Leonard Rattini, CCP

Sorry but you are in the wrong forum.
This forum is only for blogs/sites hosted by WordPress.com
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and different http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/And you should ask in the WordPress.org forum.

I hold to what I stated. I know you mean well. But by your being here, you’re nothing more than an enabler.
You’re not here to answer as to, why the bathroom is located on the house’s roof. Your here to tell me where to go find the ladder to prop to the side of the house to get to the bathroom. I hope you get the analogy.

Ho there,
You are on a WordPress.COM peer support forum asking a WordPress.ORG support question and being correctly redirected to the correct support forum for your software. So you can save your analogies as they are inappropriate.WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

You put in your first message:
The blog I need help with is http://www.lefttorightbrainthinking.com.
And you are in the WordPress.com forums.
Again, this forum is only for blogs/sites hosted by WordPress.com

That’s it.
BTW, you said:

@galois
Good morning. I’m not convinced that this person does get fact that he’s barking up the wrong tree (ie. posting to the wrong support forum) and that’s why I posted what I did above.Perhaps he is looking for a WordPress.COM theme and doesn’t know they cannot be exported and used on WordPress.ORG installs like http://www.lefttorightbrainthinking.com/
Or perhaps he does have a WordPress.COM blog he’s asking about.
Unless or until he clarifies exactly which software he is referring to, either WordPress.COM or WordPress.ORG in terms of theme selection this thread will remain as is.

Launch Effect is a free responsive one-page WordPress.ORG theme. I found the URL for the site that provides it using Google in 3 seconds flat.

I did not know there’s an “org” version. I have a “com” host user name and my procedure to log is documented to include my com’s website. As I have all three browsers I opened my com on Firefox that didn’t bring me to my landing page, I’ve become familiar with. Instead, it brought me to Firefox’s browser list screen, where I had to click from its list. Apparently I clicked on the “org,” not knowing. I’ll try using IE from now on, instead of Firefox, because it brought me directly to my landing page immediately.
To all, don’t get your feathers ruffled up. As to what I said, I still hold true to my words. Most applications are not logically designed right. Take it from this 80-year old guy who did this work for 30 years. Regards, Lenny
