Finding and editing code

  • Unknown's avatar

My site has a minimal custom navigation bar with images that reference a URL structure from a site that we migrated from (src=oldurl.com/images/…). I need to change the names of those images in the custom code to src=currentURL.com/images/. I can find the code in the source code of the page (CTRL+U) but I don’t know how to find it in the file structure and open it in an FTP client and, then, in an html editor like dreamweaver or even notepad. Any idea where I can find lines of specific code so that I can get to them and edit them?

    Hi there,

    What is the URL please?

We provide support here only for WordPress.COM hosted blogs.
We do not provide support for WordPress.ORG software installs.
    Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
I’m sorry but we cannot provide accurate answers to any blogger who fails to provide the exact URL starting with http:// for the exact blog they refer to so we can verify where it is hosted. Please do that now.

    Hi Nick,

We provide support here only for WordPress.COM hosted blogs. That site is not hosted by wordpress.COM and you are posting to the wrong support forum.

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

    Resetting your WordPress.ORG password http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
