Finding API Key
-
Can any of you think of another way I can find my API Key? I accidentally deleted the Welcome e-mail for which my account was sent, and I can’t access the area of my dashboard which I am supposed to use to find it. Is therre a way it can be e-mailed to me?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi. First, make sure you are logged in with the appropriate username.
Then go to http://apikey.wordpress.com and you’ll see your API key. -
Thanks for the link, airodyssey — I went to akismet to get mine when I couldn’t find where I’d copied it to, and this was easier. :)

I have a self-hostede (wp.org) site and wanted to get an api key to add plugins. So I created a wp.com account to be able to generate one, which I now have. Can I delete this dummy blog and retain the api key? This is so complicated!

You can simply change the blog visibility to “private“. You are not required to blog in it. Username accounts are not deleted as they are required by those who have WordPress.org installs and use plugins. WordPress atats, etc. have been replaced by the all in one Jetpack plugin and you can select which plugins in that pack your wish to use.

Why the hell is http://apikey.wordpress.com nowhere linked? I only can find this link over this thread?
http://en.wordpress.com/api-keys/
If you already have a WordPress.com account, your API key is listed on your profile page, which you can get to by clicking the “My Account” link…
This is wrong. I can’t find any API key on my account page.

@thefox21: I suggest you bring it to the attention of staff:
