Finding email associated with wordpress account

    Hi all,

    I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction for this problem I’m having.

    Currently I have been made admin of the example-group’s website which runs wordpress. The load speed has been too slow so we’ve been looking to change hosts however I do not know which account or email was used to set up wordpress. example-group-admin works for example-group.com/wp-admin but the same password doesn’t work on wordpress.com. Attempting to reset passwords hasn’t been working because I don’t know the email associated with the account and the expected (presidential) account haven’t been receiving it. Nor have I been able to contact support as I do not know the login.

    Does anybody know how I might be able to find out the associated email to example-group-admin or how I might be able to contact support for this more sensitive matter?

    Hey alanchen011,

    I hope you understand that WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different platforms.

    The website you’re talking about seems to use the standalone WordPress software and possibly hosted with any other web hosting company(e.g Bluehost, Siteground etc.)

    Please share the link to the website so that we can confirm it.

    Lossing your login information can be frustrating as @ravichahar mentioned (thanks) it does sound like you have a self-hosted WordPress site using the version of WordPress from WordPress.org. This would explain why your WordPress.com password would not allow you to log in to the site.
