Finding good astronomy theme for future wordpress.com blog?

    Hi…. I want to set up an amateur astronomy/physics blog, using wordpress.com. But when I searched the theme page at wordpress.com/themes, all I found were very specific illustrations having not even remote connections with astronomy. Not even a simple background, which be sufficient for my needs. They were all off-topic and very particular. Is there a more general theme webpage at wordpress.com? All I need is simplicity; nothing distracting. Thanks, Gene

    Hi there!

    We don’t have a ready-made theme for astronomy sites, but I’d like to clarify that the theme demos you see on our theme gallery are just for demonstration purposes. Once activated, you can edit them and remove/replace the illustrations. They are just images that you can easily replace with relevant ones that fit the subject of your site.

    You can check out themes that support Full Site Editing at this link. These themes have greater customizability, so once you’ve activated them, you can follow this guide and customize the theme to your liking. Even the theme’s styling can be customized to some extent, but on the free plan, you would have limited customizability in terms of styling (such as font, colors, etc.).

    So if you’re not looking to upgrade to a WordPress.com plan just yet, choose a theme based on its look and feel (style, font size, color), and not necessarily the text or images you see on the demo site. Once the theme is activated, you can edit the page to add your own text and images.
