finding my blog online

  when I enter my blog’s address on the search engine an older wordpress blog shows up. I can’t find my blog online

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You have a three day old blog with basically no content on it for search engines to grab onto – it takes 4 to 8 weeks for search engines to fully index a new site – and that is only if there is something worth indexing

  Hi vanmwalton!

  I believe you’re asking why your site isn’t coming back in the results of a Google search on your URL, vanmwalton.wordpress.com, is that correct?

  It looks as though your blog is brand new. If that is the case it can take some time for Google and other search engines to index the site, anywhere from a few days to several weeks. Here is a discussion of the process on Google’s Product Forum.

  Just keep posting. The best way to increase your blog’s presence on a search engine is by posting great content that gets linked to by various readers and for you to likewise link to other great content. Good luck!

  thank you for clarifying. I have a couple more questions:

  1) When I google my site’s address the wordpress site comes up and not my blog. Is there no way to go straight to my site? I created it to post pictures for an upcoming tripi and keep family in the loop while traveling abroad.

  2) I have an old blog also vanmwalton.wordpress.com that I thought had been eliminated. Apparently it still exists. How can I remove it?

  So what is your the address of the site that you’d like to find in Google searches?

  https://vanmwalton.wordpress.com/, has a post published today (25 February), so I’m guessing that this isn’t the “older wordpress blog” that you refer to. It’s also the first result I found in a Google search of the same address. Google includes an excerpt of a post that it dates “14 hours ago,” as I type. The second result is this forum topic, which is dated 4 hours old as I punish the keys at a blistering speed. It’s not very likely you’ll see Google responding much quicker than that on a new website.

  Your 2015 archives page, https://vanmwalton.wordpress.com/2015/, indicates that you have one published post this year (published on 25 February) on the vanmwalton site, and none last year.
